YR 103 Laomei Elementary School『Education 111』Program

1. Plan

「Kite Featured School」The idea is we use kite as a teaching media to let students explore their own value and uniqueness, as well as arise their care for kite hometown. This is the concrete performance of one characteristic for one school, also is the school vision “Creativity” which our school pursuit of.

「Students Multiple Capabilities」the idea is originated from that we provide appropriate courses to suit individual development. For school administrative, we seek and integrate related resources to make the maximum use of them. We offer students multiple opportunities to show what they can do, hoping to let them reach the target “one student with one capability”. We put in many efforts to develop and hope to bring “Vigor” to all students in our campus.

「One Child is a Treasure」in order to meet with the fair spirit of education, all teachers are trying hard to learn the requirements of children, lead them to experience and carry out deeply to achieve the good results. Cherish each child and no child left behind are our goals and we follow the vision “Vitality” in sustainable development.

◎We integrate the school visions into Education 111 Program as strategies to develop courses , such as making use of resources, gathering emotions among teachers and students. With these advantages, Laomei Elementary School is truly can be developed as “one characteristic for one school, one student with one capability and no child left behind” an excellent learning environment.

2. One Characteristic for one school (Kite Featured School)

(1)Year 89 – year 99

During these ten years, the Kite courses are summarized as “Kite Four Arts” which including Crafts, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Heart Art. The whole Kite courses are based on these four core concepts and are still keeping developing.

(2)Year 100

We try to integrate kite education, ocean education and energy education into our courses. The core concept is “Wind”. Wind is the main reason to change the topography of northern Laomei coastline. Without wind, the kites cannot be flied to the sky successfully. Wind energy is nowadays essential development in green energy. Additionally, wind is the first impression that outsiders come to Laomei and enjoy “Shimen International Kite Festival”. Combing these local characteristics of this place, our school has developed the whole systematic kite crafts courses.

(3)Year 101

“From heart, from art in Laomei” The courses are interdisciplinary learning and cover seven different areas.

(4)Year 102 till now

From 2013 upon Laomei’s anniversary, a series of “Kite Carnival” activities will be held at the same time. The kite carnival activities are planned together by teachers and students. All the teachers and students participate in together. The teacher for each class will provide reward cards to students; the reward card must be certified to get the points for each activity. The final accumulated points on the reward cards can be exchanged to meals freely during school carnival celebration.
